He was born with a cleft lip and palate

Little Deco was born in a hospital in Mannar Sri Lanka to his proud parents. Deco belongs to an small exotic racial group in Sri Lanka called Portuguese Creole or cafrinha. His lovely family is in the fishing trade and is a deserving little infant.

His dad is a fisherman who earns 450 rupees per day (USD $4 or GBP £3). He works 60 hours per week setting of to sea at dawn and returning to sell his catch which has to be shared among his fellow fisherman. His mum cannot work as she has to take care little Deco.

They can only just afford to pay for their food and bills.
